Aura Dentistry & Facial Aesthetics – Receptionist & Trainee Dental Nurse
Join our modern, forward-thinking dental clinic in Baillieston as a Receptionist & Trainee Dental Nurse, a dynamic dual role where you will support both front-of-house operations and clinical care. You will be the first point of contact for our patients while also training chairside with our experienced clinical team. Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction
- Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Handle patient inquiries in person, by phone, and via email with professionalism.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Clinical Assistance (Trainee Dental Nurse Duties)
- Assist dentists and hygienists during NHS and private treatments.
- Prepare and maintain clinical areas, instruments, and equipment.
- Support clinicians specialising in Implants, Invisalign, and Facial Aesthetics.
- Follow cross-infection control procedures and ensure CQC compliance.
- Be flexible with working hours, including occasional weekends for special events.
Scheduling & Administrative Duties
- Manage appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling using SFD practice management software.
- Optimize the clinic schedule to support efficiency and minimal wait times.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health information.
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with billing queries.
- Monitor and manage office and clinical supplies as needed.
Technology & Systems
- Use advanced practice management software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Operate digital systems including iTero Element 5D intra-oral scanners and digital X-ray equipment.
- Utilize digital communication tools to support patient flow and team coordination.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain a cohesive workflow.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- Experience in reception, customer service, or a patient-facing role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Professional, friendly, and patient-centered approach.
Desirable
- Previous dental or medical reception experience.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and insurance processes.
- Experience as a dental nurse or trainee dental nurse.
- Current enrolment in a dental nurse apprenticeship.
- Valid GDC registration (preferred, but not required for trainee applicants).
