About the Role:
An established and highly regarded law firm based in Hale is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Conveyancing Assistant
to join its growing Residential Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior conveyancing experience or strong administrative skills who's looking to develop their career within a professional and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced solicitors and conveyancers, assisting with a wide range of
residential property transactions
from instruction through to completion and post-completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive
administrative and file management support
to fee earners within the conveyancing team. - Assisting with the
opening of new files
, preparing client care packs, and ensuring compliance documentation (including AML and ID checks) is completed accurately. - Preparing, formatting, and proofreading
contracts, transfer deeds, completion statements
, and other legal documentation. - Liaising with
clients, mortgage lenders, estate agents, and other solicitors
to obtain information and keep all parties updated on progress. - Supporting with
exchange and completion
arrangements, preparing completion statements, and managing funds in coordination with the accounts team. - Assisting with
post-completion tasks
, including
SDLT submissions
and
Land Registry applications
. - Maintaining and updating the
case management system
, ensuring all records and correspondence are stored accurately. - Managing
incoming and outgoing post
, scanning, photocopying, and general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the department. - Delivering excellent
client care
, ensuring communications are professional, timely, and clear at all times.
About You:
- Previous experience as a
Conveyancing Assistant
,
Paralegal
, or in a similar administrative role within property law is preferred. - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and client care skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in document handling and data entry.
- Confident in using
Microsoft Office
and
case management systems
(training provided where necessary). - A proactive and motivated attitude, with a genuine interest in property law and conveyancing.
