Job description

Are you passionate about transforming digital learning experiences? Do you excel at designing and curating high-quality, impactful learning content for diverse audiences? We're seeking a strategic and innovative Senior Learning Content Design and Curation Manager to lead the development, design and management of learning resources across HMRC's Digital Academy. You'll play a key role in shaping how thousands of colleagues build their digital and data capability, ensuring content is engaging, accessible, and aligned with organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and curation of digital learning content for the Digital Academy, ensuring alignment with HMRC's strategic objectives and the Government Digital and Data Profession.
  • Oversee the end-to-end instructional design lifecycle, working with key stakeholders and owners to translate learning needs into products which drive learner confidence and capability.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, learning suppliers and the HMRC Digital Academy team to ensure that learning solutions meet design quality standards, continuous improvement and evaluation requirements set for HMRC Capability Academies.
  • Ensure all learning materials are inclusive, accessible, and reflect best practice in digital pedagogy.
  • Manage and author content across multiple learning platforms (including domiKnow, Articulate 360, SharePoint, Skillsoft, Microsoft Learn), optimising for user engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Use data, feedback, and analytics to evaluate content effectiveness and report impact to senior stakeholders.
  • Champion innovation in learning design, including the use of emerging technologies and approaches, including A.I.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and curating digital learning content and assessment in a large organisation
  • Ability to design blended learning solutions to meet stakeholder requirements and align with organisational capability frameworks.
  • Strong instructional design skills, with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and digital pedagogy.
  • Experience with digital learning content authoring tools (domiKnow, Articulate 360)
  • Familiarity with on-demand digital learning platforms, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Commitment to inclusive and accessible learning, with experience in applying accessibility standards to digital content.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional teams.

Sift

Interview

During the panel interview, your experience will be assessed, and you will be asked behaviour-based questions to explore in detail what you are capable of. There will also be an experience based presentation, details of this will be sent out nearer the time.

Hybrid working at HMRC

HMRC is an office-based organisation, and colleagues are expected to spend 60% of their working time in the office. Our offices provide opportunity for interaction, collaboration which aids learning and development and a sense of community. Where the role allows it, and where the home environment is suitable, colleagues can work from home for up to 2 days a week, averaged over a calendar month (or a proportionate amount of time for colleagues who work less than full time).
