We are Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm, with more than 5,000 people across over 30 countries. We're full-service with deep niche and sector experience. Whatever challenge, wherever in the world, we're equipped and ready to meet it. We live our values, we're purposeful and purpose-led. So although the world is fast-moving and rapidly changing, we see it as a place where everyone can thrive. We're ambitious for our clients, our communities – and for you. Whether you're starting out on your career or well established, whether you're a lawyer or in business services. If you're looking for what's next, we are too.
What to expect
As a lawyer or Paralegal, you enjoy a variety of work: regional to international and across practice groups. With us, you grow your global mindset. You're encouraged to put ideas into action and there's always something new and different to get involved in. We see the fast-moving world as a place where we can all thrive and succeed. We're excited for what's next, so with us, you can be too.
Our team
Eversheds Sutherlands' Employment Law team is one of the largest in the world. With more than 100 Employment lawyers and more recognised experts in the UK than any other firm, we have the expertise and resources to deal with matters of any size and complexity. The quality of work we can offer is unparalleled. Our clients include many of the world's largest and most sophisticated employers and the matters we advise on range from multi-jurisdictional projects to high value litigation in the Employment Tribunals and the High Court. We are regularly advising on ground breaking or high profile employment cases.
Our team has an outstanding reputation for delivering quality advice, in the format our clients want, on time and on budget. We also work closely with various government departments and agencies and employers' groups to ensure, as new law is drafted, that it is fit for purpose and reflects the commercial needs of our clients.
Role and key responsibilities
The role will support the International Employment team. You will be an integral client facing member of the Client Service Teams for key clients, providing support on chargeable multi-jurisdictional projects and client relationship management and controlling significant amounts of revenue firm wide.
You will build strong relationships with lawyers across our international network:
- Client facing engagement to support the management of large client relationships;
- Support on international and UK based chargeable projects and advice;
- Building, management, development and running of global employment helplines for key clients and liaising with international lawyers;
- Coordination and facilitation of international client training both in-person and virtual;
- Organisation of international business development events;
- Support on development of international marketing tools and AI solutions;
- Management of international billing processes for key client relationships, including development of client protocols, management of e-billing platforms and internal & external revenue management;
- Matter management and client reporting;
- Producing and analysing metrics reports and presenting these to clients;
- Providing training for new legal advisors and new countries on client protocols.
Skills and experience
We are looking for:
- A law graduate, ideally with an LPC/LLM, ideally with work experience in a legal environment.
- Someone who is comfortable liaising with clients with professional and confident communication skills, and has been in a position where you have had to give pragmatic and solutions based advice to clients.
- You should have experience working in an environment where meticulous attention to detail is a priority as well as demonstrating the management of complex processes.
- Excellent client engagement and IT skills are also required, as this role will involve reporting and using tools like PowerBI.
- Proven organisational ability and tenacity to see matters through to the right conclusion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to maintain attention to detail at all times.
You will be a crucial part of the employment law team. You'll also have the ability to work closely alongside our international team and the lead partners but also more widely within a local and national team. You'll find the work stimulating, the atmosphere dynamic and the results highly satisfying.
