BackgroundResearch & Innovation Services (RIS) provides a professional support service for research and innovation activities at City St George's. We operate a business partnering model to work with and support our six academic Schools located across our Clerkenwell, Tooting and Moorgate campuses. RIS is comprised of seven teams, covering the areas of pre-award, post-award, research & innovation
contracts, business engagement & knowledge exchange, intellectual property & commercialisation, entrepreneurship and clinical research support.
ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Clinical Research Services will be responsible for leading the Clinical Research Services team, who provide a specialist clinical research support and governance service to City St George's researchers. City St George's provides clinical research management and governance support jointly with St George's, Epsom & St Helier Hospital Group (GESH) and the postholder will be Co-Lead of the Joint Clinical Research Office (JCRO), working closely with the GESH Co-Lead to provide a joined-up service across the University/NHS boundary.
Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have extensive experience of clinical research planning, set up, managementand governance, together with experience of team leadership and management.
They will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with a diverse range of staff and external partners, and experience of providing excellent customer service. They will be highly organised and will possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills and a high level of initiative
