Mental Health Teaching Assistant – Horsham

Day Rate: £89–£100 per day

Start: ASAP | Full-Time

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students in a specialist school in Horsham . This role is ideal for someone with experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs , who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may present with anxiety, low mood, trauma-related behaviours, or emotional regulation difficulties. Your role will focus on providing calm, consistent support to help students build confidence, develop coping strategies, and engage positively in their education.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
  • A patient, empathetic and trauma-informed approach
  • Strong relationship-building and behaviour support skills
  • Ability to provide consistency, structure and emotional reassurance
  • A genuine interest in supporting wellbeing and mental health in education
