Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant to provide expert care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology, with a strong background in maternal-fetal medicine, family planning, and surgical procedures. This role involves delivering comprehensive patient care, performing complex assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes for women across all age groups. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to clinical research initiatives and participate in innovative treatment approaches within a reputable medical facility.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations focused on obstetric and gynecological health.
  • Manage prenatal care, labor & delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring maternal and neonatal well-being.
  • Perform surgical procedures including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as ultrasound imaging, CT scans, MRI, and other medical imaging modalities for accurate diagnosis.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating family planning, reproductive endocrinology, and menopause management.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including neonatology, radiology, anesthesiology, and nursing staff for comprehensive patient care.
  • Engage in clinical research studies related to obstetrics and gynecology to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on reproductive health, contraception options, and preventive care strategies.
  • Participate in hospital committees or quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and hospital protocols.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of obstetrics & gynecology practices with specialization in maternal-fetal medicine or reproductive endocrinology preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical imaging techniques including ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography, and nuclear medicine diagnostics.
  • Experience with EHR systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms for documentation and patient management.
  • Strong understanding of perioperative care, anesthesia considerations, and post-operative management including wound care and pain management.
  • Skilled in minimally invasive procedures like catheterization, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and interventional radiology techniques.
  • Familiarity with advanced critical care practices including ICU experience for maternal or neonatal intensive care units (NICU).
  • Ability to perform complex procedures such as neurocritical care assessments or airway management when necessary.
  • Knowledge of medical coding (CPT/ICD) for accurate billing and compliance purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through clinical research participation or telehealth experience.
