PDI Engineer – Powered Access Equipment

Location: Birmingham

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive + Overtime + Benefits

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious PDI Engineer to join our powered access team in Birmingham. This role is key to ensuring our fleet is fully compliant, safe, and ready for hire through thorough pre-delivery inspections (PDI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed pre-delivery inspections on powered access equipment including boom lifts, scissor lifts, and PAVs.
  • Ensure all machines meet LOLER and PUWER standards before release.
  • Identify and report faults, carry out minor repairs, and escalate major issues.
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the depot team to maintain high equipment availability.
  • Support general workshop duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience working with powered access or plant machinery (IPAF or CAP preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Understanding of health & safety and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and pride in delivering safe, reliable equipment.
