Manipulate vector-based artwork and typesetting to design layouts for various monuments. Designers are expected to communicate occasional to frequently with Funeral Homes, Funeral Directors and/or Sales Reps. to problem solve & clarify design instructions. Participate in all stages of the creative process, jumping in at any stage. Review orders/design instructions to create, refine and produce colored proofs for each iteration of a monument. Ability to follow instruction with ever-evolving standards. Work within an assigned design queue as part of a team.

  • Produce between 15 to 25 monument sketches within work day.
  • Sketch count expectation to fluctuate depending on areas assigned/special team assignments.
  • Manipulate vector based artwork; combining multiple stock artwork pieces, manually adjust artwork line thickness for blasting purposes, outline or otherwise adjust vectors per client request.
  • Manual kerning and letter spacing of names/dates on monument orders.
  • Update and correct monument orders when input incorrectly by Funeral Homes and/or Area Representatives.
  • Keep an Excel Worksheet of all orders/tasks completed to be shared with assigned Design Lead (direct manager), and Art Director for review purposes.
  • Work within a team of three to ten designers assigned to regional areas.
  • Communicate with Design Lead for updates and/or job assignments.
  • Understand and adapt to changing blasting and design standards.
  • Communicate via email and chat/direct messaging systems.
  • Depending on skill set and/or skill growth, designer may be assigned to a 'special team' to complete assignments/tasks utilizing a specialized skillset (i.e. Urgent, Special Art, Asian Lettering, Bronze, Laser Etching, Porcelains, Vault Prints).
  • Other duties as assigned as needed by department/design lead.
