Our cross-functional, agile product team collaborates to design, build, and deliver Vypr's brand-new AI-driven platform. Comprising software engineers, QAs, product managers, designers, and a delivery manager, the team is guided by modern tech principles—such as a serverless-first approach, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD—to build scalable, secure, and highly available solutions that drive innovation and growth.
Things that you will do
- Contribute to the backend development of Vypr Platform and APIs using AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB etc) with and TypeScript, adhering to modern development standards.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality code in (TypeScript), following best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, engineers and QA) to scope, break down, and deliver complex technical tasks.
- Drive best practices in software engineering, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing strategies.
- Mentor and support engineers, fostering a high-performance culture and helping team members grow technically.
- Apply DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing strategies to keep deployments fast and safe.
- Identify and address technical debt, balancing feature development with long-term system improvements.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, recommending innovations that enhance performance, security, and developer productivity.
- Contribute to the technical strategy, aligning Backend development with business objectives and future growth.
What you will be responsible for
- Applying and advocating best practices in backend development, including code quality, security, and performance.
- Aligning backend work with overall platform architecture by collaborating with the Lead Software Engineer.
- Supporting peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing to foster a high-performance culture.
- Ensuring APIs and microservices meet scalability and reliability targets while integrating smoothly with frontend.
What you are good at
- You have solid experience with , TypeScript, AWS, and microservices, building scalable APIs and services.
- You have strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture – including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Cognito, and SQS/SNS.
- You're comfortable with software design principles like SOLID, dependency injection, and common design patterns.
- You can write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CDK in TypeScript and have experience working with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience with React or is desirable but not essential.
- You mentor engineers, drive best practices, and make informed technical decisions that improve system stability and developer efficiency.
- You proactively identify technical challenges, optimise performance, and balance trade-offs between innovation and maintainability.
- You work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding.
- You stay up to date with industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and drive improvements in development processes.
