Job Overview

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to lead our legal consultancy operations and oversee the development of Pegasus Law Group's cross-jurisdictional practice between the United Kingdom and Canada.

The role requires a qualified Barrister & Solicitor from Ontario, Canada, who is also registered as a Foreign Lawyer in England and Wales (SRA). The successful candidate will manage complex, multi-jurisdictional matters and ensure full regulatory compliance within the UK legal framework.

This position requires a unique combination of Canadian and UK legal qualifications, cross-border experience, and compliance expertise that are not commonly available within the domestic UK labour market. The candidate will lead Pegasus Law Group's UK legal operations, integrating them with Canadian practices to ensure continuity of service and adherence to international legal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and strategic advice on cross-border matters involving UK and Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Draft, review, and supervise contracts, immigration documents, and commercial legal templates.
  • Develop firm-wide compliance policies and risk management frameworks.
  • Lead UK legal operations, mentor staff, and liaise with regulatory and professional bodies.
  • Represent the firm in client consultations and partnership discussions.
  • Support expansion of Pegasus Law's legal technology and document automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Barrister & Solicitor (Ontario, Canada), in good standing.
  • Registered Foreign Lawyer (England and Wales) with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in Canadian and international law.
  • Strong expertise in Canadian law with an understanding of UK legal systems.
  • Proven leadership and experience in managing multi-jurisdictional client matters.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and professional conduct standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with compliance under the Law Society of Ontario and the SRA (UK).
  • Prior experience leading or managing a legal or consulting firm internationally is an asset.

Pay: £56,646.55-£138,078.26 per year
