Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
Duties
- 09:00- 18:00 shift
- Same fixed area everyday, starting from Sunderland although this may vary depending on the needs of the business.
- Expected 60 drops per day and a maximum of 100 miles.
- Operate a SWB or MWB van to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods safely, following proper procedures to avoid damage or injury.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Qualifications
- Valid driving license; experience in SWB and LWB Van driving is preferred.
- Previous experience as a van driver or delivery driver is advantageous.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and clients.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
