Job Description
At Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments, we are on a lookout for a Technical Support Engineer with a background in gas detection or portable electronic instrumentation. This role is ideal for someone eager to become a trusted advisor to our customers, offering expert support on our range of gas detection instruments.
What You'll Do
- Provide specialized technical support for gas detection equipment via phone, email, and other channels.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to gas detection instruments, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively across teams to streamline customer issue resolution.
- Accurately document interactions and maintain detailed customer records.
- Conduct on-site customer training, with travel up to 30%.
- Audit authorized Teledyne GMI Service Centers to uphold our standards.
- Offer comprehensive training on the usage, maintenance, and servicing of gas detection products.
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with gas detection equipment or portable electronic instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of engineering processes and the ability to support related software applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Previous experience in customer support roles.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically, with up to 30% travel.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- High proficiency in IT.
- Flexibility to occasionally work late afternoons to support American customers.
