The project: Working with a strategic client in the oxford area to deliver a project within the life sciences sector providing conference & auditorium facilities.

Managing the implementation of design management system/s and its effectiveness in meeting business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements.
Acting as an enabler for change, business improvement and delivers distinctive value for clients.
Overseeing all phases or stages of Design Management including interactions/ coordination with construction, commercial, programme and procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating activities to deliver assigned elements of annual business plan outcomes to deadlines and budget requirements. 

  • Guiding daily activities of the team of design management resources for projects.

  • Ensuring briefs and stakeholder requirements are adhered to.

  • Providing operational support for design management resource deployed to project/s.

  • Interpreting and presents management review data/key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders

  • Supporting business development and work winning activities.

  • Ensuring management system and governance is adhered across the lifecycle of project/s and project.

  • Reviewing and input into management reviews, collating, evaluating, and presenting data and key metrics

  • Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinating with team/s ensuring coordinated deliverables.

  • Actively seeking out knowledge and experience through company reach back. 

  • Actively seeking understanding and utilise the centre of excellence (CoE) knowledge base. 

  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You'll need to have:

  • Experience in a design or construction-related profession.

  • Strong communication, organisational, presentation and writing skills.

  • Good knowledge & application of design management systems, design risk management and mitigation.

You'll also have

  • Membership of RIBA, MICE, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.  

  • Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts, professional appointments and Health & Safety legislation. 

  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

  • Knowledge and awareness of BIM management and associated deliverables.
