University Hospital Bristol and Weston (UHBW) are looking for Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSW) for Adult Theatres

You will be required to be fully flexible across all shift patterns.

Previous hospital healthcare experience is essential.

Good academic qualifications are required for this role, please see job description.

Please note, this role does not currently meet the salary requirement for certificate of sponsorship. From the 9th April 2025, the minimum salary required for a Skilled Worker visa became £25,000 per year. While this role may be offered at a higher point on the pay scale depending on relevant NHS experience, most new starters are appointed at the bottom of the band, which does not meet the new salary threshold.

Nursing Care (Band 3 SHCSW – Theatres)

Provide clinical and therapeutic care within protocols, using your judgement as appropriate.

Perform key duties independently: infection control, theatre preparation and cleaning, equipment checks, instrument handling, patient transfers.

Support patient care (including positioning for surgery), follow care plans, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively.

Adhere to Trust safety and infection control policies.

Expect exposure to bodily fluids and distressed patients.

Working Hours: 37.5hrs per week (full time)

This is physically demanding role and you will be on your feet for long periods.

This is an emotionally demanding role and requires you to adapt quickly to the constantly changing clinical demands.
