About the Opportunity:

Are you passionate about helping others discover and achieve their career goals? This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone starting out or aspiring to become a Careers Consultant, offering hands-on experience in supporting students and graduates as they plan their next steps.

As an Assistant Careers Consultant at Arden University, you'll be part of a friendly and forward-thinking Careers, Employability and Alumni team dedicated to empowering our learners to reach their full potential. You'll provide career information, advice, and guidance to help students and graduates reflect on their values, interests, and skills, and gain the confidence and resources they need to plan and manage their careers effectively.

Working alongside experienced Careers and Employability professionals, you'll play a key role in helping our community make informed career choices through 1-1 appointments, group sessions, workshops, and online events. You'll also collaborate with our Alumni Careers Consultant to enhance the careers support available to Arden graduates, helping them continue to grow long after they've completed their studies.

About You:

We're looking for someone who's enthusiastic about helping others succeed and who's ready to grow their career within a supportive higher education environment. You'll be passionate about guiding students and graduates as they explore their career options and develop the skills and confidence to reach their goals.

You'll bring:

  • Experience of working with students or colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds, demonstrating cultural awareness and inclusivity in a variety of settings.
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring students or customers to help them identify and achieve their personal, academic, or professional goals.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and implement multiple complex projects and deadlines within a changing environment and under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a commitment to continuous professional development and a genuine interest in supporting students and graduates to succeed.
