Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only until 2027 +

About The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate who is passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or a career in education.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' learning across a range of subjects, working closely with teachers and the wider support team to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and assist students with their learning in class.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a calm, focused learning environment.
  • Contribute to lesson planning, preparation of learning materials, and classroom organisation.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to teaching and learning as required.
  • Support students' academic, emotional, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with the SEN and pastoral teams to support pupils with additional needs.

About You

  • I am a recent graduate (any discipline) with a strong interest in education.
  • I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • I am reliable, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • I have the ability to manage my time effectively and follow teacher direction confidently.
  • I can commit to a full-time position during school hours, Monday to Friday.
  • I hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
