We are a busy, friendly, and patient-focused GP practice committed to delivering high-quality primary care to our community. We are looking for an organised, approachable, and motivated Receptionist/Administrator to join our team.
About the Role
As a key member of our front-of-house and administrative team, you will be the first point of contact for our patients. You will provide efficient reception support, manage administrative duties, and help ensure the smooth running of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and handling enquiries both in person and over the phone
- Booking, cancelling, and managing patient appointments
- Processing repeat prescription requests
- Managing incoming post, emails, and clinical correspondence
- Maintaining accurate patient records using practice systems (e.g., EMIS )
- Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all GDPR and safeguarding standards
- Handling patient registration and updating records
Person Specification
Essential:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, calm, and patient-focused manner
- Strong organisation and time-management abilities
- Competent IT skills and comfortable using computer systems
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Knowledge of EMIS & Docman 10
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare environment
- Experience in customer service or reception roles

Pay: £12.30-£13.00 per hour
