About You

Do you want to specialise in drug development or commercialization strategy? Do you want to support biopharmaceutical drug development or commercialization strategy? Are you looking to become the catalyst between clinical and commercial success? Prescient is looking for seasoned consultants or engagement managers to join us as an Engagement Manager for our growing Competitive Strategy business in London, UK.

About Prescient Competitive Strategy

Prescient Competitive Strategy, a Prescient Healthcare Group business, is a best-in-class biopharma intelligence agency providing impactful insight and decision support to product and portfolio teams from early clinical development through to loss of exclusivity.

About the Opportunity

You will be part of a fast-growing PE-backed business that allows high-performing employees to make an impact and contribute to growing the business. You will have the chance to channel your advanced degree into supporting the development and commercialization of portfolios, assets and brands by integrating therapeutic, clinical and commercial expertise to ensure that clients are able to make confident decisions.

You will be responsible for executing successful intelligence and insight engagements across our clients' product and company life cycles, and for growing revenue within existing accounts. As your clients will mainly be in the US, the Engagement Manager position requires a thorough understanding of the evolving US biopharmaceutical market and trends. Many projects will also involve global client stakeholders; therefore, knowledge of drug development and commercialization in other markets is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engagement Management: Collaborate with other members of the project and account teams to ensure clients experience best-in-class customer service and that projects are run in a proactive, communicative, and efficient manner.
  • Project Management: Ensure three-dimensional management of client engagements, including design, executive summaries, planning, client management, people management, evidence collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Business Development: Seek out new business within existing accounts and pursue opportunities with new brands.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a valued subject matter expert externally and mentor junior staff internally.
  • Secondary Data Analytics: Contribute to sourcing, analysis, and reporting of published information, whether scientific, clinical, commercial, corporate, or market-related.
  • Evidence Generation: Collect market, competitor, and stakeholder evidence through desk-based interviewing and elicitation.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Collaborate with members of the project team to analyse findings, develop insights and implications, and create client presentations that deliver a linear, evidence-based story on the topics in focus. Ensure Technology and Data & Analytics are embedded across target tracker programmes.
  • Conference Attendance: Cover key conferences with the objective of interacting with a wide range of experts and delegates and attending key symposia, presentations, posters, and booths.
  • Industry Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, dynamics, evolutions, and consumption patterns and share insights accordingly.
  • Line Management: Where assigned, hire, develop, and retain diverse talent on your team, supporting recruitment in coordination with the recruitment team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education & Experience: Graduate or advanced degree in life sciences, data sciences, business, or a related discipline, with 6+ years of life sciences research and analytics experience (e.g., pharma consulting, pharma business intelligence, drug/indication database work, pharma data analytics). Preferred: 2+ years' experience in oncology, immunology, or biosimilars. An advanced degree may be required.
  • Therapeutic / Specialist Experience: Experience in the same or a related therapeutic area or specialist domain, with understanding of relevant clinical, commercial, or regulatory landscapes.
  • Industry & Consulting Background: A mix of industry and consulting experience is a plus.
  • People Management: Experience managing direct reports is preferred.
  • Thought Leadership: Demonstrated thought leadership through patents, new methodologies, publications, conference presentations, speaking engagements, or participation in professional associations.
  • Consulting Knowledge: Advanced understanding of core consulting practices, principles, and tools, demonstrated through increasing independence in completing assigned work.
  • Life Sciences Knowledge: Strong understanding of the life sciences industry, including drug development, approval pathways, clinical trials, and patient segments, with the ability to translate this knowledge into consistently effective Competitive Strategy deliverables.
  • Customer & Quality Centricity: Demonstrable client-centric and quality-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to adapt communication for cross-functional audiences, present technical information clearly, and deliver strategic narratives that align stakeholders and motivate action.
  • Project Management, Time Management & Organisation: Proven ability to represent one's function effectively in cross-functional projects and teams. Recognises shifting priorities and adjusts workload accordingly. Capable of taking on stretch assignments and delivering them to the expected standard.
  • Achieving Results: Strong, consistent performance over multiple years, with a track record of high-quality work. Demonstrated resilience and the ability to navigate change and ambiguity effectively.
