Maternity Cover – Sports Coaching Position

Location: WR7 & WR10 Contract Type: Temporary (Maternity Cover) Hours: Part-time, flexible scheduling available

Delta Sports Coaching is seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team on a temporary basis to provide maternity cover. This role involves delivering high-quality, inclusive sports sessions to children across our after-school and holiday programmes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for child development, a proactive approach to coaching, and the ability to foster a safe and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver structured sports and activity sessions for children aged 4–11
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive, age-appropriate, and aligned with Delta's values
  • Support children during transitions, snack times, and general care routines
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and contribute to the wellbeing of all participants
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain a positive team culture

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with children in coaching, educational, or childcare settings
  • Confidence in leading group activities and adapting sessions to suit varying needs
  • A caring, responsible attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to professional conduct

Desirable Qualifications

  • First Aid certification
  • Safeguarding training or equivalent
  • Food Hygiene Level 2
  • Full UK driving licence
