The Role

As a Senior Commercial and Property Litigator, you will manage your own diverse caseload of commercial and property litigation matters, acting for SMEs across a wide range of sectors, institutional clients in the financial sector, and commercial property owners and funders.

You'll have the autonomy to run your cases from start to finish, whilst also taking on some managerial responsibilities for 1-2 team members based in the Liverpool office. This is a client-facing role where your personality, ambition, and network will be key to developing both your own brand and the firm's reputation in the region.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of commercial and property litigation matters
• Handling general commercial litigation including shareholder and partnership disputes, warranty claims, professional negligence actions, contested insurance claims, and contract disputes
• Managing property litigation matters including contested lease renewals, dilapidations claims, and disputes involving the sale, purchase, and leasing of property
• Acting for SMEs, institutional clients in the financial sector, and commercial property owners and funders
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional client service
• Building your network of business and professional contacts in the Merseyside area
• Contributing to business development and the growth of the litigation practice
• Supervising and mentoring 1-2 team members based in the Liverpool office
• Playing an active role in the strategic development of the practice

About You

Essential Requirements:

• 8+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
• Proven experience in both general commercial litigation and commercial property litigation
• Demonstrable track record of managing your own caseload independently
• Experience acting for SMEs, institutional clients, and commercial property owners/funders
• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of commercial and property disputes
• Excellent client care skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Ambition and drive to develop your personal brand and contribute to the firm's growth
• Strong managerial and supervisory skills
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills

Highly Desirable:

• Existing client following (though not essential)
• Strong network of business and professional contacts in the Merseyside area
• Business development experience and a proactive approach to generating new work
• Experience in a senior or leadership role within a litigation team
