About the role.

We are looking for an energetic commis waiter / barback to join the team at our Borough Market restaurant.

You will play a crucial role in supporting our floor & kitchen team and ensuring that the service operates smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to learn.

Responsibilities.

  • Assist bartenders in preparing drinks by gathering ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils.
  • Restock bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and ice as needed.
  • Restock crockery and cutlery, ensuring that all items are ready for service.
  • Communicate effectively with bartenders and other staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Support the team during busy periods by helping to serve customers as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.

Requirements.

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of bartending practices is advantageous but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to help others and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
