Our competitive rates of uncapped commission as well as the friendly, supportive team we have has resulted in a low turnover of staff with most of our employees having worked here for more than 10 years. The Cutting Company is a stunning salon with an amazing reputation that has built us an extensive clientele over the past 34 years. We are passionate about education and ensure all our team has up to date training throughout the year. This includes but is not limited to new colour trends and techniques, cutting and personal development. Your day to day duties will include:

  • Giving your clients a thorough consultation to discover their true needs and expectations
  • Colouring, cutting, blow drying, and styling your clients hair, demonstrating how to use our products and giving them aftercare recommendations
  • Dealing with phone and face to face enquiries
  • Using the till and booking system
  • Utilizing down time efficiently, e.g. helping to train our apprentices
  • Help with basic day to day cleaning/tidying
  • Managing your own column to maximize your potential

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be passionate about their industry and want 'a career' rather than 'just a job'
  • Be at least NVQ 2 qualified with a minimum of 2 years fully qualified salon experience (not mobile or working from home)
  • Have impeccable consultation skills and be a great listener
  • Be able to confidently choose, match up and recommend colours
  • To have experience with Wella is an advantage but not a necessity
  • Pride themselves on their customer service skills and professionalism
  • Be able to work under their own initiative as well as part of a team
  • To be able to confidently recommend products

We are ideally looking to fill a full time position of 40 hours a week, which includes 2 weekday shifts 11:30am-9pm and Saturdays. Part time would be considered but must include an evening and Saturdays.

We offer free parking to our staff and we are close to a train station and bus stop for those who do not drive. Basic salary (before commission) would be dependent on level of experience which may be determined after a trades test.

Pay: £12.21-£25.00 per hour
