Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Property Care Association Full time

We are looking for a proactive, well organised Technical Manager to join our small, friendly team at our head office in Huntingdon. You will be responsible for supporting the damp and timber sector of the association, delivering training and ensuring we remain the leading trade body in this sector. This is an exciting role for someone who has good attention to detail, is a confident trainer and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

About the Property Care Association

The Property Care Association (PCA) is the leading representative organisation for the UK's building protection industry. Our skilled and audited membership operate across domestic, commercial and civil sectors in the structural repair, structural waterproofing, wood preservation, damp protection, flood remediation and invasive weed control industries.

Focused on the complete building envelope, our members' expertise protects the integrity and comfort of domestic buildings in both new build and refurbishment projects, guarding against moisture damage, damp, mould and decay. Members also deliver cutting edge techniques to protect commercial and civil structures against water penetration and ground gases, as well using the latest scientific methods to tackle invasive weeds, including Japanese knotweed, across all urban, rural and watercourse environments.

Key Deliverables

You will deliver practical and classroom-based training, primarily to technician-level operatives, to a pre-agreed syllabus. You will undertake membership audits, usually within the damp and timber sector. Training and membership audits take place UK-wide, and there will be the need for regular travel, which is expected to be approximately three days a week.

You will ensure the smooth running of activities relating to the preservation (damp and timber) sector. This will include drafting technical documents, planning and managing sector meetings and working with members to respond to government consultations. You will also be expected to contribute to technical activities across the other sectors we represent.

You will be able to forward plan; being proactive whilst able to respond to reactive issues. You will be an excellent communicator, managing and influencing staff, stakeholders and trainees to ensure we are the leading authority in this matter and all projects are delivered to a high standard.

There will be a requirement to plan and organise individual and team activity and to manage, integrate and coordinate work on behalf of the association. There will be a requirement for regular UK travel to attend and manage the association's training and audits.
