Safeguarding and Child Protection Accountability
•
To support the company's commitment to Safeguarding across all services
•
To develop a high standard of Safeguarding and Child Protection knowledge, practice and training
•
To follow Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies and Reporting Procedures
•
To understand and adhere the companies Whistleblowing Policy and Procedures
•
Develop an awareness and Understanding of Government Legislation in relation to Safeguarding and Child Protection including the EYFS Welfare Requirements, Ofsted Requirements, Working together to Safeguard Children and the KCSIE
•
To uphold the Local Authorities reporting procedures in relation to Safeguarding and Child Protection
Curriculum
•
To support the team in delivering the Curriculum Approach – 'The Little Curriculum'
•
To learn about the 'Intent' behind the curriculum including Child Development, Milestones, Patterns in play, School Readiness and Phonics.
•
To contribute to a well-rounded curriculum that includes all children
•
To develop a high standard of teaching and quality interactions with children aged 0-5
•
To adhere to the OAP cycle and how this supports to the curriculum
•
To support parents/carers with learning at home
•
To have secure knowledge of key children including interests, progress and next steps in learning and how to support their transitions.
•
To support the SENCO with delivering targets and individual support plans for children
•
To support the communication and Language development of all children
•
To promote the monthly value and area of the curriculum
•
To develop the ability to plan a diverse range of activities, experiences and resources suitable for children of all ages, interests, and abilities, taking account of diversity, abilities, learning styles, access to the resources and activities, equality and inclusion
•
To support the deliverance of the Extra-Curricular activities
•
To support the team in reviewing the environment to ensure it meets the needs of all children
•
Ensure children are able to access a healthy balance of adult and child initiated activities – removing any barriers for participation
•
To embrace the Little Educator Values
•
To have an understanding of how the Little Curriculum links to the EYFS
•
To complete training courses to support the development and deliverance of the curriculum
•
Provide a curriculum that promotes British Values and Cultural Capital
Health and Safety
•
To adhere to the companies Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, Risk assessments, regulations and practices including dealing with accidents, incidents, and administering medication
•
To learn about daily checks and other compliance documents and highlight any new risks or changes
•
To be aware of the children's individual health and safety risks (including dietary requirements, medications, health care plans etc)
•
To undertake and implement the companies intimate care routine policy and procedures
•
To complete light cleaning duties
•
To complete and adhere to Food Hygiene Level 2 training (during apprenticeship)
•
To complete Paediatric First Aid and deliver practices safely (during apprenticeship)
•
To complete all Core Health and Safety training (during apprenticeship)
•
To have an understanding of health and safety, Fire Safety, COSHH and SFBB practices
Parent Partnership
•
To welcome children, parents and families and adhere settling in practices
•
To develop skills in supporting parents in completing All About Me's and Learning at Home documents
•
To maintain up to date children's records and report any changes to management
•
To build an effective relationship with parents and families that fosters two-way communication and feedback and to be aware of children' family background and culture
•
Developing relationships and positive interactions with parents during visits to the setting
•
Develop skills in supporting parents in how to deliver learning at home
•
To listen to and value and parents opinions and build a trusting relationship with parents so they can share their children's progress and concerns at home
•
Provide parents with high quality observations and next steps in learning
•
Encourage parents to share observations and special experiences that happen at home
Collaboration
•
Developing positive working relationships with the nursery team and our families
•
Implement a cohesive approach to managing children's behaviour
•
Developing positive working relationships with parents
•
Collaborate with the team to improve knowledge and practice in the Early Years
•
To support management in delivering a high quality service and contribute to the development of the setting
•
Develop knowledge of and support colleagues in their roles , e.g. SENCO, Parent Champions, Health and Safety Officer etc
•
To be respectful of other people's views, backgrounds and cultures
•
To engage and collaborate with senior management on visits and training
•
To develop positive and safe working relationships with external partners and multi professional teams
•
To communicate, collaborate and share appropriate information effectively with external partners
•
To professionally and positively represent the company when engaging with external partners
Compliance
•
Adhere to all Compliance Policies and Procedures
•
Ahere to all safeguarding and health and safety procedures to ensure the company is compliant
•
Adhere to Safeguarding and Online safety practices
•
Use Famly effectively in reporting and monitoring procedures
•
To have sound understanding of external compliance and legislation
•
To understand the basic principles of GDPR practices
•
To understand reporting procedures that ensures the company is compliant
•
To comply with expectations of conduct outlined in the staff handbook
•
Complete all tasks related to compliance
•
Ensure all resources and ICT equipment are safe to use
•
Learn and implement the EYFS Welfare, Safeguarding and Ofsted Compliance and Requirements
Training and Development
•
Actively engage and have a Positive Attitude to further learning, development and qualifications
•
Complete Apprenticeship work and off the job training effectively and on time.
•
Complete all core and non-core training courses
•
Attend and positively contribute to staff meetings and the annual Little Nurseries Conference
•
Attend and engage in external training opportunities
•
Actively participate in Supervisions, CPD plans and in Nursery Development Plans.
•
To continuously improve knowledge and skills keep up to date with changes in the Early Years Sector
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: £7.55-£10.55 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
