Kick off your career in one of the fastest-growing, most meaningful areas of the built and natural environment. This graduate programme gives you hands-on experience across environmental consultancy, planning, assessment and design — working on real projects that protect, enhance and shape the world around us.
You'll be part of a national team delivering environmental insight, technical analysis and creative solutions across a huge range of sectors, from transport and energy to urban design, heritage and biodiversity.
Key Criteria (Must-Haves)

Eligibility
- Minimum 2:2
in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject: - Environmental Science, Geography, Ecology, Earth/Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Archaeology / Heritage, Urban Design / Planning, Environmental Management, Atmospheric Sciences / Air Quality / Chemistry, GIS / Geospatial, Sustainability.
- Strong analytical, research or design skills
depending on the pathway. - Confident using data tools
(Excel, GIS or similar). - Ability to travel to sites when required
(some sites may not be near public transport). - Available to start April or September 2026.
You'll rotate or specialise across one of three environmental disciplines, depending on your interests and location.
1. Air Quality – London, Basingstoke, Birmingham, Exeter
Work on air quality modelling, monitoring, environmental assessments, and health impact analysis.
What you'll do:
- Use dispersion modelling tools (e.g. ADMS, ADMS-Roads)
- Support air quality monitoring plans and fieldwork
- Analyse pollutant data across urban, industrial and sensitive ecosystems
- Prepare technical reports and assessments
- Contribute to bids, tenders and environmental impact assessments
- Learn how AI, sensors and data technologies are changing environmental analysis
2. Landscape Architecture – London, Exeter, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh
Design places, public realm and green infrastructure to support healthier, more liveable communities.
What you'll do:
- Support landscape design from feasibility to detailed design
- Contribute to LVIA/TVIA assessments
- Use CAD, Adobe Suite and GIS tools
- Work on active travel schemes, public realm upgrades, renewable energy landscapes and more
- Produce conceptual drawings, visuals and technical documents
- Collaborate with urban designers, ecologists, engineers and planners
3. Cultural Heritage – London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow
Help protect and understand heritage sites, archaeology and historic environments.
What you'll do:
- Analyse historic maps, archives and datasets
- Support archaeological desk-based assessments
- Conduct site visits to assess heritage setting
- Prepare heritage baselines and technical reports
- Use GIS for mapping heritage assets
- Contribute to large-scale national infrastructure projects
Graduate Development Programme (2 Years)
You'll follow a structured pathway focused on:
- Technical skills development
- Professional and business skills training
- Mentoring and support for chartership (e.g., LI, CIfA, IAQM, IEMA)
- Networking and cross-discipline collaboration
- Real project responsibility from day one
- Clear progression routes into senior and chartered roles
The programme is built to help you grow quickly, both professionally and personally.
