Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a Warehouse Supervisor to work for a growing Electrical Accessory Supplier. Our warehouse is based at Swindon, Wiltshire, we are welcoming someone who has previous warehouse team management, pick/pack and forklift experience.

The company supplies and provides goods to Electrical Wholesalers both within the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will need to live close or hold a full driving licence, have people skill, can oversee all warehouse operations, including supervising staff, managing inventory, coordinating the receipt and dispatch of goods, and ensuring safety and efficiency. Key responsibilities include distributing the orders, maintaining accurate stock levels, optimizing warehouse layout, implementing and enforcing health and safety standards, and managing budget and staff performance on pick/pack (completing customer orders), also be responsible for reporting and continuous improvement programs.

Candidate will be working in a fast pasted environment and working to high standards along with attention to detail will be required. Normal weekday hours of work would be 08:30 - 17:00 (with 30 minute unpaid break) with occasional overtime when business dictates. Long- term opportunities exist along with possible promotions after probationary period, pension scheme, generous paid holiday.

Key responsibilities

  • Operational oversight: Manage the day-to-day flow of goods, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory.
  • Inventory management: Maintain accurate stock levels through systems and regular checks, and manage storage space to optimize efficiency.
  • Staff management: Supervise warehouse staff, assign customer orders, monitor pick/pack performance, organize training, and manage scheduling.
  • Safety and compliance: Establish and enforce health, safety, and security standards to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Reporting and analysis: Produce reports on performance metrics, such as staff performance report; costs and delivery times, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, Excellent organizational and time management abilities, Proficiency in inventory management systems, Problem-solving skills, and Effective communication skills. Computer Literate – Familiar and proficient with Excel Spreadsheet a must.
