Fire Engineer

West Midlands

A quick one before the year wraps up. A respected fire and security group is looking to add a strong Fire Engineer to their West Midlands team. They're the kind of place that backs their engineers and lets you get on with things, but you've got support there when you need it.

This role is a proper mix of commercial sites and social housing, so it's not the same day on repeat. The key thing they need is someone confident in programming and fault-finding on higher-end panels. They're a Gent integrator, so you'll be on GENT and Notifier a lot, and they'll put you through Gent programming training as well.

The nice bits first:

Up to £39,000 basic salary

Overtime and on call on top

Call out is about 1 in 3, but it's paid well, and travel is covered door to door when you're on

A Gent integrator works with training included

Supportive managers, no micro-managing, and engineers get trusted

Van for private use, fuel card, phone, uniform, tools

 

What you'll be doing:

Planned maintenance and servicing

Reactive callouts, fault finding, remedials

Programming and diagnostics on Gent and Notifier panels

Working across commercial and social housing sites

Keeping customers updated in a straightforward way

 

What you'll need:

Fire and life safety background with good hands-on experience

Strong programming and fault-finding ability on decent fire systems

Comfortable with Gent, Notifier or similar high-end panels

Good working knowledge of BS5839

Full manual licence and happy with an enhanced DBS
