Description As the centre enters an exciting period of growth and development, we are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about delivering the very best learning experience to young people. We are seeking Lecturers in Biology and Chemistry to join our dynamic team on either a full-time or part-time basis, with permanent contracts available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Biology or Chemistry within the Science Department
- Take on a teaching load in line with your contractual requirements and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science curriculum
- Design and deliver innovative, engaging, and effective lessons that inspire and support student achievement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to secure excellent outcomes and create a positive learning environment at Cadbury College
- Engage with external agencies, college partners, local businesses, and employers to enhance learning opportunities and meet the diverse needs of Biology and Chemistry students
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in teaching Biology and/or Chemistry, with the ability to inspire and engage students
- Proven track record of raising attainment and maintaining high academic standards
- Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline
- Recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above (or willingness to work towards achieving this)
- Strong theoretical understanding of the subject area
- Ability to deliver innovative and engaging lessons that bring scientific concepts to life
- Commitment to contributing to the ongoing development of science education at Cadbury College
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
Accepted Qualifications:
- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
