Luton, Luton, United Kingdom Luton Borough Council Full time £30,024 - £32,197 per year

About The Job
Salary: £30,024 - £32,597 a year pro rata
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Fixed Term for 5 months
This position is available as a secondment opportunity for up to 5 months. If you are a permanent LBC employee, you must have written approval (an email will suffice) from your manager prior to applying and a copy will need to be submitted with your application. Please note: we will not be able to proceed with your application form without your manager's permission.
This role is all about providing the kind of business support that keeps services running smoothly and effectively.

You'll be helping to shape documentation, procedures and frameworks that underpin the delivery of vital services, while also being a point of contact for schools, providers, external agencies and the public. That means some days you'll be deep in planning and organising your workload to meet tight deadlines, and on others you'll be responding to queries or complaints with clarity, accuracy and professionalism.

The work is varied and requires you to be methodical and detail-focused, but also confident enough to adapt quickly when priorities change. You'll be part of a team that values cooperation and support, but you'll also have the freedom to work on your own initiative.

Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About You
You'll bring with you proven experience in business support, ideally within an education setting or in a role where partnership working has been key. You're someone who can communicate confidently with a wide range of people, whether it's colleagues, schools, external partners or members of the public. Writing clearly and concisely comes naturally to you, and you're just as comfortable explaining complex information as you are listening carefully and responding with empathy.

Staying organised is second nature, and you thrive when managing competing deadlines without letting standards slip. You're methodical, accurate and numerate, and your strong interpersonal skills help you maintain positive relationships even under pressure. Importantly, you have an eye for fairness and equality, and you're not afraid to challenge discrimination where you see it.

This is a public facing role so you'll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
