The opportunity

With more than 600,000 Shopify shops using , our brand is already a trusted name in ecommerce. Now we're ready to take it to the next level. Our YouTube channel will set a new standard in ecommerce content: rich in expertise, visually polished, and designed to strengthen our bond with DTC brands and dropshippers.

We're looking for a strategist and creator to make this vision real. You'll own everything from the first spark of an idea through to the final edit: shaping the look and feel, planning episodes, scripting, filming, editing and polishing.

You'll be part of the growth and marketing team, working closely with colleagues in marketing, product and customer support, as well as with external partners and guest contributors.

This role reports to the Chief Growth Officer.


What you'll do
  • Define the direction – Develop our YouTube strategy and audience goals. Research and identify topics, formats and series that will appeal to ecommerce and dropshipping founders and specialists.

  • Own the full creative process – Take each video from concept through to completion. Generate ideas, script, film/record, oversee editing, and prepare engaging titles, descriptions and thumbnails.

  • Drive channel growth – Apply a deep understanding of YouTube's algorithm and ranking factors. Conduct keyword and trend research to inform content. Test different thumbnails, titles and metadata to improve visibility, click-through rates and watch time. Build a repeatable playbook for sustainable subscriber and view growth.

  • Maintain the pipeline – Keep a consistent publishing calendar. Manage timelines, assets and archives to ensure a steady flow of content.

  • Share insights – Report back on channel performance and viewer feedback. Highlight what resonates with founders and identify opportunities for new content.


Who you are
  • You have built and grown a YouTube channel, ideally focused on ecommerce, retail, or entrepreneurship, and can demonstrate your ability to create engaging video content from concept to upload. Applicants will be required to share the YouTube channel they have built as part of their application.

  • You have first-hand experience in ecommerce or dropshipping, either as a founder, operator or through working closely with such businesses. You understand their challenges and language.

  • You have a clear vision for what makes a YouTube channel stand out. You can imagine how 's channel becomes the show every ecommerce founder wants to watch - and you know how to turn that vision into reality.

  • You are a storyteller at heart, able to turn a founder's experience or a technical tutorial into a narrative that keeps viewers engaged.

  • You have deep understanding of YouTube's recommendation and search systems and know how to adapt content for them.

  • You are organised and self-directed, able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

What success looks like
  • You will have established a regular publishing cadence and launched series that resonate with ecommerce and dropshipping founders.

  • Subscriber numbers, watch time and engagement will be growing steadily.

  • Viewers will start to recognise our channel as a source of practical help and engaging stories.

  • YouTube will positively impact both our install numbers (shops installing ) and the affiliate traffic we generate to Shopify.
