At MM Freight, we provide fast, efficient and reliable transport of chilled, frozen and ambient goods across the UK, ROI and Europe.

We are looking for an experienced European Transport Planner to join our logistics team at our depot in Telford. This role requires excellent knowledge of European logistics including routes, EU customs procedures and cross-border regulations. The ideal candidate will work well under pressure, be able to problem-solve quickly in order to meet deadlines and have excellent written and verbal communication both with external stakeholders and in internal communications.

Please note that this role includes work every 3rd weekend on a rota-basis (with weekdays off in lieu). Due to the evolving nature of transport logistics, this role requires flexibility, with earlier starts or later finishes during peak times to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate international transport across Europe
  • Optimize routes, costs, and delivery times
  • Coordinate customs procedures and documentation for cross-border shipments
  • Liaise with customs brokers, carriers, drivers, and customers
  • Monitor shipments, ensure customs clearance, and resolve transport or customs incidents
  • Ensure compliance with EU transport and customs regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in European road transport planning
  • Knowledge of EU customs procedures and cross-border regulations
  • Strong understanding of European geography and logistics networks
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (experience with TMS systems is desirable)
  • Available to work flexibly and every 3rd weekend (days off in lieu)
