About Composition

Composition is a story-driven creative studio that makes the complex clear. We specialise in translating technical and innovation-driven ideas into engaging visual stories for sectors like fintech, medtech, SaaS, and industrial tech. Our clients trust us to cut through noise and deliver clarity with design that informs, persuades, and lasts.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Motion Artist who brings both craft and curiosity. You will take the lead on animation projects across 2D and 3D, shaping ideas from storyboard to final render. This role suits someone who thrives in technical subjects, enjoys problem-solving through design, and can balance precision with creativity.

You will work closely with our Creative Director to develop concepts, define visual language, and set the standard for quality across projects. Alongside hands-on production, you'll help guide midweight and junior artists, offering feedback and mentoring that strengthens the team's output.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the animation process across 2D and 3D projects, from concept through to delivery.
  • Develop clear, engaging motion graphics that simplify complex technical stories.
  • Work with the Creative Director on visual direction, moodboards, and storyboards.
  • Manage timelines and workflows on your projects, ensuring delivery at a high standard.
  • Collaborate with designers, editors, and producers to align creative and technical execution.
  • Share knowledge of tools, techniques, and workflows to support team growth.
  • Skills and Experience
  • Strong portfolio of 2D and 3D motion work, ideally including explainer content or technical subjects.
  • Expertise in After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Redshift.
  • Good knowledge of Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop and the rest of the Adobe Suite
  • Good knowledge of Maya, Houdini, or Unreal is a bonus.
  • Confident across the full production pipeline: concepting, design, animation, rendering, and compositing.
  • Comfortable presenting work and explaining creative decisions to both colleagues and clients.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other artists.
