The role of Director of Finance and Business Systems
As Director of Finance and Business Systems, you will lead the Finance Team, supported by an experienced Financial Controller, and be the senior executive responsible for financial strategy, budget management, compliance, and sustainability, reporting to the CEO and the Board of Trustees. You will help lead the drive for operational excellence, innovation, and value for money across the organisation.
You will provide strong management support to our Head of IT and Business Systems, and Fundraising Manager, representing these areas strategically, ensuring the opportunities they present are embedded in organisational strategy, and supporting them to continued high levels of performance.
As a member of the Executive Team, you will help shape strategic direction and ensure we continue to meet the needs of the young people we support.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead strategic and operational finance functions, ensuring compliance with charity and company regulations.
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, reporting, risk management, investments, and procurement.
- Provide executive leadership to IT, systems development, and digital security.
- Support our Fundraising Team to deliver income targets aligned with organisational strategy.
- Champion data protection across the organisation and manage compliance with GDPR.
- Collaborate across departments to solve problems, foster innovation, and deliver high-impact services.

What we are looking for:
We're looking for a qualified accountant with senior financial leadership experience and a strong interest in how technology can enhance services and create new horizons. You'll be a clear communicator with strategic insight, ideally at Executive or Board level, and committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and positive social impact. Experience in the charity, education, or care sectors, along with knowledge of data protection, GDPR, and fundraising, would be an advantage.
