Defence Project, Programme & DLOD Management Opportunities – Based at Army HQ, Andover

We are seeking ex-Regular and Reservist professionals from across the British Armed Forces—including the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and British Army—to support delivery across defence programmes in part-time hybrid roles based at Army Headquarters (AHQ), Andover. These positions offer the chance to apply your military experience to help deliver integrated Army capability modernisation in structured P3M environments.

Roles Available:


• Programme Director


• Programme Manager


• Project Manager


• Assistant Project Manager


• PMO Leads (Schedule, Risk, Benefits, Finance, Comms, Data)


• Defence Lines of Development Managers (Training, Org & Pers, Infrastructure, Logistic Support, Trials Testing and Fielding, End User BCMs)

Key Responsibilities:


• Lead and support delivery across the full P3M lifecycle—from initiation through to benefits realisation


• Coordinate pan-DLOD planning and integration, critically training, logistic support, and infrastructure


• Manage risk, schedule, and resource dependencies across multiple workstreams


• Provide governance, reporting, and assurance in line with MOD standards


• Engage stakeholders across Defence and industry to maintain alignment and operational tempo


• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards throughout delivery

Candidate Profile:


• Military or defence sector experience, ideally with at least general Staff Officer experience at Army/ FLC HQ, Field Army HQs, or within delivery agents such as DE&S, Defence Digital, or DIO


• Strong understanding of P3M principles and MOD delivery frameworks desirable


• Ideally a proven ability to manage the programme lifecycle, including logistics, equipment support, trials and testing, and platform acceptance activities


• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills


• Education or equivalent experience in P3M desirable (APMP, MSP, PLP, MBA, BTC, LDA, CENG)


• We are particularly keen to receive applications from Army or equivalent tri-service applicants; Warrant Officers (especially REME, RE, RLC, AGC) through to Lieutenant Colonels (particularly those with Capability & Acquisition or Training or Infra or Log KSE/SQEP), and exceptionally, Colonels with Defence Programme Director or SRO experience

Employment Terms & Conditions:

Appointments will typically be offered for up to 180 days per year under VeRR or ARRG 1 PJ/VTOD arrangements. In exceptional circumstances, roles may be extended via FTRS or mobilisation, subject to operational requirements. Offers of appointments are strictly limited to Regulars in their last 3 months, Ex-Regular or Reservists from British Defence - Army, Navy, Airforce.
