Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Clayton-Le-Moors for a Family Support Worker. In this role, you will assist families by providing tailored support plans, conducting parenting assessments, and offering guidance and interventions to promote effective parenting and child welfare. Responsibilities include working closely with parents to implement evidence-based strategies, maintaining detailed and accurate case records, and collaborating with social work teams and other partner agencies. Your efforts will focus on supporting families towards lasting positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Family Services, with a focus on delivering family support plans.
  • NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards gaining the qualification.
  • Proficiency in Case Management, including maintaining detailed case records and reporting on progress.
  • Skills in Working With Children, including providing tailored interventions based on their needs and well-being.
  • Strong Communication skills, including active listening, reporting, and working effectively with families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multi-agency environments to achieve desired family outcomes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection protocols.
  • A relevant qualification in Social Work, Family Support, or a related field is preferred.
  • Empathy, patience, cultural competence, and the ability to adapt to meet individual family needs.
