Wine Advisor

Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Wine Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for wines, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. This role involves guiding customers through our selection, offering expert advice, and enhancing their shopping experience. Fluency in multiple languages, particularly English and Spanish, is highly desirable to cater to a diverse clientele. The position offers an engaging environment where organisational skills and a keen eye for merchandising are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting wines based on their preferences and occasions, providing expert advice on wine types, pairings, and storage.
• Maintain an organised and attractive display of products, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing.
• Upsell products by highlighting special offers, new arrivals, or premium selections to maximise sales opportunities.
• Engage with customers politely using excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or reservations.
• Manage stock levels efficiently through effective merchandising and inventory checks.
• Keep abreast of new wine trends and product knowledge to inform customers accurately.
• Support the organisation of promotional events or tastings as required.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the store environment.

Requirements

• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers.
• Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic maths skills for processing transactions accurately.
• Proven organisational skills to maintain neat displays and manage stock levels effectively.
• Experience in merchandising or retail sales is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is vital.
• Professional demeanour with good phone etiquette when interacting via telephone or email.
• Ability to upsell products tactfully while prioritising customer satisfaction.

Pay: £18,315.00-£28,000.00 per year
