Our work sits at the intersection of AI strategy, design, product management, technology and governance - helping clients identify genuine AI opportunities, prototype responsibly, and scale solutions safely.
We're now looking for an experienced Product Director with strong AI and data product experience to partner with our leadership team on a number of client engagements across financial services, fintech, and digital sectors.
The Role
As a
Freelance Product Director
, you'll play a pivotal role in helping our clients and internal teams shape, define, and deliver AI-driven product strategies. You'll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure that every initiative balances
customer value, ethical AI use, and commercial outcomes
.
You'll bring a deep understanding of
how to take AI from concept to product
, guiding discovery, scoping, and delivery in complex organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy and vision for AI and data-driven initiatives across client projects.
- Define measurable outcomes, success metrics, and value propositions for AI products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, data science, engineering) to define roadmaps and MVPs.
- Translate complex AI and data concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
- Support client workshops on AI opportunity mapping, prioritisation, and roadmap definition.
- Drive alignment between product strategy, governance, and ethical AI principles.
- Identify and de-risk product delivery dependencies in regulated and enterprise environments.
- Mentor internal and client teams on product management best practices for AI initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years' experience in product leadership, ideally with a mix of
enterprise and consultancy
backgrounds. - Proven experience leading
AI, data, or automation product initiatives
— from discovery through delivery. - Strong understanding of
machine learning, generative AI, and data platform capabilities
(you don't need to code, but you must understand the landscape). - Experience in
regulated industries
such as financial services, healthcare, or energy. - Skilled at
storytelling, influencing, and stakeholder engagement
at C-suite level. - Comfortable leading
workshops
and creating structured product artefacts (roadmaps, blueprints, OKRs, etc.). - Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with consultancies or boutique strategy firms.
- Familiarity with design-thinking or service-design methodologies.
