What will you be responsible for?
As Senior Environmental Advisor you'll be working within our SHEA team, supporting the design and delivery of projects, such as East West Rail. The role will provide specialist advise to the project teams on the legal, client and company requirements and procedures ensuring all the required environmental compliance obligations, objectives and targets are met.

Your Day To Day Will Include

• Meeting client environmental and sustainability requirements and commitments, i.e. East West Rail, Network Rail Environmental & Social Minimum Requirements (NR/L2/ENV/015), implementing the business environmental sustainability strategy and supporting project teams in its development
• Updating and maintaining the environmental and social management plan and supporting documents
• Identifying all environmental permits, licences, consents, and other 3rd party conditions are in place in a timely manner, communicating and complying with all conditions, engaging with supply chain and procurement functions maximising environmental sustainability benefits and meeting client requirements, working proactively with project delivery teams identifying, communicating and managing environmental risk and opportunities
• Working with the Head of Environment for Rail promoting consistency of environmental delivery across Kier Transportation major projects' portfolio aiding with Kier Transportations One Planet Action Plan on the project
• Monitoring and measuring environmental performance setting standards and identifying opportunities for improvement or developing best practice, identifying, developing and supporting delivery of environmental toolbox talks and environmental training to the project delivery teams

What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Environmental Advisor is great for you if:

• You have a Degree level qualification (minimum HNC / HND) in a discipline relevant to the environmental / sustainability industry, are an Associate or member of an environmental institute
• Hold relevant experience in environmental management, also sound knowledge and practical experience of maintaining, implementing and improving EMS's certified to BS EN ISO 14001
• It is imperative you can bring an understanding of the broad sustainability agenda and general sustainability issues, best practice and associated legislation with an emphasis on environmental sustainability
