An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Medical Engineering Technician within the Medical Physics Team, at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, to support the delivery of a medical equipment management service.
The postholder will help provide medical equipment management services to a range of NHS and other customers, supporting the clinical use of a range of highly specialist medical equipment in areas including critical care units, theatres, general wards, and community sites. This includes fault finding, repairing breakdowns, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, safety checks, assisting with the investigation of medical equipment related incidents and problem solving in the clinical environment.
You will have a degree or technical HND or equivalent qualification in an electronics or medical engineering discipline, and experience of working within an electronic servicing role. Experience of working on anaesthesia and ventilation equipment is an advantage.
We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a flexible and methodical approach to the required tasks. This post may involve travelling and working at various hospitals and clinics within the board.
NHS Dumfries and Galloway serves a population of approximately 150,000 in a region covering around 2,400 square miles. It is an area of outstanding beauty though it's countryside and along it's coastline.
