Workday Solutions Architect

As a Workday Solutions Architect, you will design and deliver practical, business-aligned technology solutions using strategic platforms primarily Workday and ServiceNow. You will act as a bridge between process design and technical configuration, supporting Agile delivery teams focused on talent development. You will collaborate with HR stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable Workday solutions, ensuring usability and impact across the organisation. You will contribute to sprint planning, story creation, and cross-functional delivery, while maintaining a clear, non-technical communication style that resonates with business users. You will also engage with consultancy partners and niche agencies to source best-fit solutions in a challenging talent market.
To be successful as a Workday Solutions Architect, you should have experience with:
- Proven experience as a Workday Solutions Architect with practical HR business application.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, including experience working in Scrum teams.
- Ability to communicate complex solutions in a clear, business-friendly manner.
- Workday certification or formal training (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience supporting talent development initiatives within HR environments.

This role is based in Glasgow or London.
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
