The role:
BH Live is recruiting for full and part time Recreation Assistants to join our busy team at the Mountbatten Centre. Located in Hilsea, a five-minute drive from Portsmouth city centre, Mountbatten Centre offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool & spa.
We are ideally looking for someone who already holds an NPLQ qualification but if you haven't, BH Live can help support you with your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification & training (subject to a successful interview and swim test). This is a nationally recognised qualification and will supply you with lifelong skills, such as self-confidence, teamwork as well as the ability to save lives.
If you do not currently hold a valid NPLQ qualification, you must be able to attend all the dates and times shown below:
Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November 8am - 4.30pm
Monday 1 - Thursday 4 December 5pm - 10pm
Saturday 6 December am - 4pm
You will:
- Work poolside
- Keep our customers safe
- Be a point of contact for our customers
- Erect, dismantle and move equipment
- Clean the centre and equipment
- Your NPLQ qualification
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS Clearance
- Be a confident swimmer
- To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative
- The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside
- Great customer service skills
