Where We Need You: 

Protiviti is looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to join our growing Lender Due Diligence team. This role is key to the development of relationships and delivery of consulting engagements in the conduit and private asset backed lending space. 

The successful candidate will work as part of engagement teams to perform reviews / Agreed Upon Procedure  - AUP's (the "scope"), which will vary by transaction working across different target businesses from telecom to manufacturing to consumer lending and many more and will typically involve evaluating collateral, as well as the target company's processes, reporting capabilities and quality of data associated with those assets.  The results of these services help our bank, insurance and private debt / hedge fund clients enhance their understanding of the target company and the underlying assets, including quality of related reporting, associated with each lending transaction.

The Lender Due Diligence team is part of the Risk and Compliance Solution. Protiviti's risk and regulatory compliance practice in London is focused on Financial Services – insurance, retail, private, commercial and investment banking, securities trading, investment management, wealth management and market infrastructure.

What You Can Expect:  

As a Manager, you'll partner with our clients to identify and manage risk. You'll develop strategies to solve complex business problems using new ways of thinking, and devise solutions to support your clients' needs through using the latest tools and methods.  You'll develop lasting relationships with client personnel and further these relationships through quality product delivery.  You'll foster a network within the business community and serve as an ambassador of Protiviti in the market. You will also be a mentor and provide performance development to teams as you oversee the successful completion of project work plans. By focusing on clients and engagements in the financial services industry, you'll partner with highly regulated clients and deepen your expertise in financial services regulations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery, people and management of client engagements within the risk and compliance solution.
  • Work with our clients to address key credit risks and concerns by performing reviews of the "target" company (our client's customer) and the assets that are part of a lending transaction (collectively, the "deal").
  • Motivated to learn and interested in all things related to Lender Due Diligence/reviews, including the latest trends and developments.
  • Manage the successful delivery of larger and small client projects end-to-end, to time, quality, and budget, effectively delegate tasks to team members and take ownership of the delivery and quality of team members' work whilst leading client relationships.
  • Create development opportunities for all team members through meaningful assignments.
  • Develop a high-performing, diverse team that delivers exceptional client service and value.
  • Develop a repeatable innovation process that drives creative ideas within project teams.
  • Assist with the development of Protiviti thought leadership white papers, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and marketing materials.
  • Develop new relationships and work with the Managing Director/Directors to enhance and run existing client relationships to maximise Protiviti's coverage.
  • Develop, with the company's support, existing or new areas of relevant specialism and expertise to differentiate yourself in the market.
  • Take a leading role in the development of engagement opportunities by managing our work to propose and bid for work.
  • Promote Protiviti's services in the UK marketplace to expand coverage.
  • Liaise with other offices globally to leverage off current contacts to provide a considered and consistent approach to the market and to liaise on sharing resources.

Do Your Talents Include the Following?     

  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Auditing/consulting experience or an experienced professional within a leading FS firm, the FSA, or trade association in the areas of risk and the related processes, controls and reporting for different asset classes.
    • Internal or external audit within a large professional services firm and looking to specialise in lender due diligence and make a move into consulting.
    • General financial accounting background and experience.  Specific knowledge of receivables (consumer and corporate loans, trade receivables, leases, mortgages etc.) accounting and transaction processing is a plus.
    • Desirable would be auditing experience in the areas of credit risk and the related processes, controls, and reporting for different asset classes. Prior lender due diligence experience, especially for securitisation conduit and/or warehouse facilities, is a plus.
    • Prior securitisation/structured finance experience in any of the various asset classes (ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLO) with ABS or CLO experience highly desirable.
  • Performing an agreed-upon set of procedures which may include the evaluation of collateral, the target company's processes, reporting capabilities and quality of data associated with those assets.
  • Evaluating, summarising, organising, and interpreting data.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, client service focused, consultative work environment and contribute to the engagement team's success.
  • Prior management and direct supervisory experience of teams including conducting performance appraisals, mentoring and coaching, resource management on projects, oversight and review of work, coordination across teams, and understanding how to motivate. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills.
  • Understanding European Structured Finance market and demonstrated ability to manage client relationships would be beneficial.

Your Educational and Professional Qualifications:    

  • 5+ years in a related field, (preferably in consulting, professional services which includes both internal and/or external audit, and/or Financial Services) strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; minimum 2:2 or equivalent preferred
  • Professional certification such as ACA/CPA/CFA/Securities and Investment Institute equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Protiviti practices a hybrid wording model, which is a combination of working in person with purpose and working remotely and is primarily dependent upon the needs of our client. The ratio of remote to in-person requirements varies by client, project, team, and other business factors. It can sometimes mean more of a full-time presence at our client. This model creates meaningful experiences for our people and our clients while offering a flexible environment. Our people work both in-person in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, which can include local, or UK wide travel based on our projects and client requests and commitments.    

Remuneration and Benefits 

Starting salaries are competitive and are based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the salary range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location.

Employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance cover, life assurance, pension scheme and receive up to 25 days holiday per calendar year. Protiviti also recognises up to 10 paid holidays each calendar year and we have additional benefits as part of the Robert Half Enterprise.
