Overview
Are you passionate about Agile principles and ready to make a real impact in a global organisation? At Gallagher, we're looking for an experienced and motivated
Scrum Master
to support multiple squads in delivering high-quality outcomes. This is your opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your skills will help shape the future of our business.
As a Scrum Master, you'll play a pivotal role in enabling our squads to work efficiently, deliver value, and align with organisational objectives. Acting as a servant leader, you'll foster a culture of continuous improvement, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and remove impediments to ensure our teams thrive.
This is mainly a remote/homebased opportunity so you can be based from anywhere in the UK. Our only requirement is that you can be flexible to travel to an office as and when needed and also to make our team touchdown day in our London office once a quarter.
If you're ready to take on a role that combines leadership, collaboration, and innovation, we'd love to hear from you
How You'll Make An Impact
Agile Facilitation and Squad Support
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure they are effective and focused on delivering value.
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder squad progress, escalating issues when necessary.
- Foster collaboration within and across squads, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities, and dependencies.
- Support Product Owners in maintaining and prioritising the product backlog, ensuring clarity and readiness of work items for upcoming sprints.
- Work closely with Delivery Managers to align squad activities with project timelines, milestones, and organisational objectives.
Driving Continuous Improvement
- Monitor squad performance and velocity, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure retrospective action items are tracked and implemented to drive meaningful improvements.
- Promote and coach Agile best practices, ensuring alignment with Gallagher's Agile Ways of Working and the AJG Agile Centre of Excellence.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Delivery Managers to manage dependencies and ensure seamless delivery across squads.
- Act as a communication bridge between squads and stakeholders, providing transparency on progress, risks, and impediments.
- Provide regular updates on squad performance, sprint progress, and delivery status to stakeholders.
Coaching and Mentorship
- Coach squad members on Agile principles, roles, and responsibilities, fostering a culture of accountability and self-organisation.
- Mentor junior team members and new squad members on Agile practices and tools.
