Head of eCommerce Performance

Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom Digital Tonic | Digital, eCommerce & Marketing Recruitment Full time £60,000 - £120,000 per year

Are you a senior eCommerce growth marketer who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-led D2C environments? Do you love blending creativity with commercial thinking, and want the autonomy to shape a brand's next phase of expansion?

We're partnering with a fast-growing eCommerce brand to find a Head of eCommerce Performance who can take full ownership of performance, retention, and customer experience. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who moves quickly, thinks strategically, and brings an ego-free, collaborative energy to everything they do.

You'll join a passionate team, work closely with the Founder, and have the freedom to drive meaningful change across marketing, eCommerce, paid media, and CRM.

The Role

As Head of eCommerce Performance, you'll lead the brand's full marketing and growth engine — shaping strategy, driving acquisition, and elevating the end-to-end customer journey. You'll own the marketing calendar, manage budgets and KPIs, and work closely with the Founder and wider teams to deliver high-impact campaigns and launches.

You'll take responsibility for the entire Shopify eCommerce experience, ensuring the site is optimised for conversion, SEO, content, and storytelling. From CRO testing to international expansion, you'll continuously refine the digital customer journey to drive sustainable growth.

You'll oversee all paid acquisition across Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest and emerging channels — managing performance, scaling spend, and guiding agency/freelancer support where needed. Alongside this, you'll grow affiliate and influencer partnerships and identify new audience opportunities.

You'll also own CRM and customer lifecycle strategy across email, SMS, and onsite journeys, using Klaviyo to deepen engagement and increase retention. This includes welcome flows, loyalty, reactivation, referrals, and ensuring customer support is consistently on-brand.

As the team evolves, you'll mentor and guide internal and freelance specialists — working cross-functionally with Product, Merch, Creative and PR to deliver cohesive, impactful marketing.

Skills and Experience

  • Has 8+ years' experience in growth, digital marketing, or eCommerce leadership
  • Is confident leading across paid media, CRM, and eCommerce performance
  • Has deep hands-on experience with Meta and Google Ads, Shopify, and Klaviyo
  • Is commercially sharp, with a solid understanding of ROAS, CPA, AOV, CLTV and broader commercial levers
  • Combines analytical thinking with strong creative instincts
  • Has experience managing agencies and freelancers, ensuring efficient, high-quality work
  • Communicates clearly, collaborates well, and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Brings a proactive, curious, solution-oriented mindset — always looking for the next opportunity

Benefits

You'll be joining a creative, ambitious, and genuinely supportive brand at an incredibly exciting point in its journey. Expect a competitive salary, 28 days' holiday (including a Christmas shutdown), flexible working hours, health insurance, generous product discounts, and weekly wellbeing perks.

Most importantly, you'll have the autonomy to lead, shape, and grow — both for the business and your own career. It's a rare chance to make a tangible impact and be part of a brand that's really going places.
