Job Summary
Postdoctoral Fellow in ECoG/LFP of Speech ControlAn NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available to study speech control in patients with dystonia and tremor using a combination of electrocorticography/local field potential (ECoG/LFP), electroencephalography (EEG), structural (MRI, DWI) and functional (fMRI, EEG) neuroimaging, and clinical-behavioral neurotesting.
The postdoctoral fellows will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team of neuroscientists and clinicians. Responsibilities include participating in all aspects of data acquisition and management; developing, modifying, and executing analytical protocols; preparing publications and scientific presentations; disseminating results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and at major national and international meetings, and mentoring junior staff. Opportunities exist for excellent scientific interactions and collaborations with an extensive program of seminars, symposia, and other meetings focused on a large array of topics in neuroscience, neurosurgery, clinical research, and neurotechnology

Qualifications and Skills
- A PhD or MD/PhD degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields of biomedical sciences
- Expertise in ECoG/LFP data processing and other methods of human brain imaging, including but not limited to fMRI, EEG, and DWI
- Solid experience with scientific computing, including but not limited to computational (Python, MATLAB) and statistical (AFNI, FSL, SPM) methods
- Strong experience in algorithmic design, mathematical models (primarily stochastic differential equation systems), and analysis and integration of dynamical systems
- Independence and professional self-motivation with a proven track record of productive research
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate on projects with multiple investigators
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent academic credentials, including a strong publication record
