Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Assistant to support the daily care and development of young children within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in early childhood education, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of creating a safe, nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and looking to develop their management and leadership abilities in a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • Support behavioural management strategies in line with nursery policies
  • Help with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and outdoor play
  • Assist in monitoring children's progress and providing feedback to senior staff
  • Support with administrative tasks related to child records and activity documentation as required

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
  • Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare environment is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience with organising activities that engage young children effectively
  • Valid driving licence is preferred to support transportation needs when required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 41.25 per week
