BLONDIE LOCKS – TRAINEE / JUNIOR EXTENSIONIST ROLE

We're opening up a brand new position at Blondie Locks and we're looking for the right person to join us

If you're passionate about hair, good with people, and you want a proper long term career with us this could be for you.

What we're looking for

We'd love someone who already has some experience in hair.

This can be:

• salon work
• college training
• blow dries, washes, styling
• Or some extension experience would be preffered (tapes, nanos, wefts, assisting etc)

You don't need to be fully trained in extensions, we'll teach you everything , but you must understand the basics of hair, be able to work in a fast environment, and pick things up quickly and work under pressure with attention to detail (with our support).

The right person will be:

• honest about what they can and can't do
• confident with washing, blow-drying and styling
• willing to learn extensions the Blondie Locks way
• good with clients
• calm under pressure
• reliable, punctual and switched on
• positive energy, no drama
• able to follow instructions properly
• Obsessed with hair
• Comfortable with tang part in content as this is a part of our salon

What the job involves

You'll be:

• assisting stylists
• working with real clients
• learning extensions in salon
• doing blow dries, styling and prep work
• practising sectioning, placement and detail skills
• eventually fitting extensions as you progress
• building into a full extensionist role over time

You'll be supported by the team and given proper training, but you must put the work in, practise at home with our training programme, and stay consistent.

Non-negotiables

Just to be super clear:

• this is employed only
• no side clients, no freelance, no mobile hair
• must work Thursday, Friday and Saturday to start
• must have reliable travel
• must be looking for at least 12+ months
• must be able to handle a busy, high pressure salon

Hours & Details:

• Thurs: 5 hours
• Fri: 5 hours
• Sat: 6 hours
• Starting 9:30am
• Based at our Wallsend salon
• Training included (extensions, styling & more)
• Pathway to junior stylist + extensionist role after training
