Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet hygiene standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a professional hospitality environment and develop your culinary skills. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key qualities we value highly.

Duties

  • Washing, drying, and sanitising dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
  • Supporting chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
  • Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
  • Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed
  • Assisting in setting up dining areas and clearing tables as required
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures is advantageous
  • Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments is beneficial
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and contribute to team efforts
