Job Description:

We are looking for a professional and courteous Service Manager who will work closely with the Head of Operations and Registered Manager to manage the delivery of our Children's Community and Education Services and provide the highest quality of care and support to Children and Young People in accordance with the company's policies & procedures and the standards set by the Regulatory Bodies.

You will require to evidence significant experience at a senior level in social or health care or equivalent, complex environment and will be tasked with maintaining current service users and growing our customer base, keeping accurate correspondence records, meeting regularly with management, updating client details, and developing customer service policies.

You will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of the business and manage all aspects of care by providing excellent management and leadership to ensure staff are clear about their duties and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.

This position requires flexibility to manage and travel to other service locations.

What will you do?

  • Manage care rotas and ensure they are in place for the smooth and efficient running of the care services
  • Handle reports and manage the financial effectiveness of budgets as specified by the management
  • Liaise with and maintain partnerships with health professionals and other local community organizations
  • Hire and train new staff and provide ongoing supervision and development for existing members
  • Take ownership of quality assurance and governance through scheduled spot checks, service reviews, internal audits, and risk assessments
  • Supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of people and identify and prepare development plans to ensure the most appropriate service provisions
  • Actively promote independence by safeguarding complex needs, organizing activities for service users, and providing advice and support to their families
  • Participate in On-Call Rota and receive incoming calls from carers and colleagues within their designated area, managing current weekly rotas, ensuring holiday, sickness, and emergency calls are reallocated and covered in line with service users care plans
  • Undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require

Skills and Qualifications Needed:

  • This post will suit a Care Manager with at least 5-7 years of extensive experience and knowledge with a recognized professional qualification like SVQ4 or above in health and social care with good understanding of the regulatory responsibilities of a registered manager with excellent track record with Care Inspectorate reports.
  • SSSC Registration is essential with working knowledge of the SSSC Codes of Practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in holistic assessment of need, support, and risk, and multi-agency casework planning.
  • Ability to write user-friendly care plans and service user guides.
  • Passion for working with people and providing person-centred care.
  • An ability to negotiate with other service providers and to influence their response to improve the service provided to families /elderly under your care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to communicate with a range of people using a variety of communication methods.
  • An understanding of accountability to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
